A customer recently had an issue where a .pages file created on an Apple Mac was required to be opened on a Windows XP client. Turns out that this file is simply a .zip with a .pdf inside.

Solution:

1. Rename the file from “filename.pages” to “filename.zip”
2. Extract the .zip file, Open the QuickLook folder inside
3. Inside you will find a file called “Preview.pdf” which is what you need
